Some of you may remember the saying "The Sun and Fun Capital of the World, Miami Beach" from the Saturday evening Jackie Gleason Show which aired from the Miami Beach Convention Center (home of 2003 DEMA Show). As President of the Dive Miami Alliance, I thought the hospitable thing to do would be to give you tips and suggestions on where to go and what to do in the "Sun and Fun Capital of the World".
To visit Miami and Miami Beach and not submerge yourself in our rich cultural surroundings would be foolhardy. With virtually every variety of food available, amazing nightlife, diverse architecture, stunning views and world class diving, Miami loves to entertain!
The immediate area surrounding the Convention Center and the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce offers an incredible selection of dining, an unforgettable array of clubs and some of the best people watching in the world. When ready to explore, you'll want to go east from the Convention Center towards the ocean and then south on Washington Avenue, Collins Avenue or Ocean Drive to the heart of South Beach. The following is a "taste" of what South Beach and the Greater Miami Area offers.
Miami is the kind of place where you don't have to go very far to enjoy an interesting experience. Leisure activities available include; The Parrot Jungle, The Monkey Jungle, The Orchid Jungle, The Seaquarium, a variety of Casino boats, Miccosukee Indian Gaming Resort, air boat tours of The Everglades, Everglades National Park, Glass bottom tours in Biscayne National Underwater Park, World Chess Hall of Fame, a variety of museums, sporting events, theaters and the list goes on…not the least of which can be a relaxing stroll down one of our beautiful beaches!
Come and enjoy our city, manage your time well and you'll accomplish your business goals while logging many unique experiences.
